Music is the healing force
of the universe
— from Albert Ayler's 1969 album

Ivan Minuti is the founder and creative director of tech-company Musicalism, a platform of streaming technology for Music Curation, operating in the EMEA region. The concept leverages software envisioned by Ivan Minuti, that enables users to organize large music libraries into automated playlists, scheduled over a perpetual calendar.

Over the last decade, he has been recognized as a leading musical expert in the GCC regions, due to his dedication to music research, which culminated in a private music collection of over a hundred thousand songs, collected over two decades.

Recently, he was the resident DJ and music curator for one of the world's most iconic hotels, Burj Al Arab (2020-2023). In this role, he designed background music across the property’s outlets and for other group hotels like Jumeirah al Naseem

Prior to this, he was the Music Director for the Four Seasons Dubai (2015-2020), where as well worked to establish the brand's music identity across various venues. He began his Dubai journey in 2011 at age 27, hired as a resident DJ by the French hospitality group George V to perform at the Grosvenor House’s renowned Buddha Bar and Siddharta Lounge.

These prestigious opportunities have honed Ivan’s deep musical knowledge and let him gain a stronger sense of luxury hospitality's needs. Even though his career started much earlier in his hometown Milan, where at just twenty, became the first DJ at Dorchester’s five stars hotel Principe di Savoia: here he developed his background in downtempo music such as soul, jazz, nu-jazz, and bossa nova.

As a club performer, Ivan Minuti’s broad musical understanding encompasses a 360-degree, which could be resumed as House blended with an electronic attitude.

His approach to music selection has led him to perform at numerous events for fashion houses like Ferragamo, Zegna and also for beverage brands like Dom Perignon and Hennessy. His passion for design has fostered collaborations with firms such as Cassina and Flos, and brands like Hublot and Maserati.

In 2016, he joined his wife’s company, Clicbeat, to specialize in refined soundtracks for hospitality. Today, Clicbeat is a consolidated agency in Dubai’s entertainment management, collaborating with a network of over two hundred artists, which includes DJs, live bands, and solo performers.

Over the years, Ivan’s extensive experience helped him build up a reputation as a true artisan of music curation: his belief in providing custom radio channels able to match the client's unique brand identity is what sets him apart from those who keep using ready-made playlist templates.

This approach led to the launch of Musicalism in 2024, a business devoted to the mission of redefining music curation by offering comprehensive services, able to provide both music provision and hardware integration. The company caters to a diverse clientele, including art galleries and contemporary digital spaces, marking a new formula in B2B interactions.

SOMETHING MORE SOPHISTICATED

The challenge behind this series wasn’t to try building a ordinary selection of techno tunes, but to embrace all the visionary productions able to tell a story about what is expecting us, blending together a dystopian soundscape along with a distinctive clubbing driving force, made by punchy bass lines on luscious drum patterns. The only mission is capturing the shape of our upcoming days.

MAYBE AFTER DINNER

Started in 2012 and now at the 23rd chapter, the session goal has always been to connect two type of worlds: the introspective one of the daydreamers with the nocturnal darkness of the nightclubbing. Two different mindsets linked on the same path: melodic-techno with mystical influences evolving in a long deep ride, with composite melodies and charming grooves. This is what M.A.D. has always been: a fluid journey to relish during an early evening or “maybe” with the first morning sunlight.

L'APERITIVAN

An alluring selection of songs from the past and from the most recent times: classics, jazzy and funky, discovering the complexity behind the word “downtempo”. Originally inspired by the work of the records collector Gilles Peterson, this captivating hour of music is build for whoever wants to disconnect after a long day run, spicing up a sunset drink and set the right ambience for later on.

LIVE

A live performance isn’t meant to be heard into tiny laptop speakers: It needs subs, some drinks and a morning off the day after. Who pretend to enjoy a live dj set directly from the office’s computer usually ends up to appreciating more bright vocals and a groovy uptempo attitude. And that’s why this is the core of the style of those types of recordings: juicy jazzy-house music, able to warm up the first part of the week.
