Strings Lamp by Flos

Design is the form of art able to move easily across ages and Flos isn't just the brand proving it, but also a true pioneer in this ability: "Arco" lamp, envisioned by Pier Giacomo and Achille Castiglioni back in 1962, is a distinct example: this legendary product still looks futurist even today, representing without a doubt a milestone for his famous marble base and the curved line. In 2017, another masterpiece by Flos turned fifty: the table lamp "Snoopy" is iconic, refined, a true wonder of interior design. But what about betting on which product release nowadays will stand for the next three generations? My choice would be the "Strings" by Michael Anastassiades: this brilliant idea came out from a simple necessity to place the light where was not possible, due to a lack of power access. The talented greek designer elaborated it with two main shapes, conic and globular, and with a series of medium-long wires (6 and 12 meters) able to let the user interact with the surrounding space. the result is a remarkable object, minimal and forefront, that reminds everyone how simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.
